The third installment in the Nickelodeon Literacy Suite, Dora ABCs Vol 3: Ready to Read!, is designed to enhance your child's early reading and phonics abilities. Having already covered letter sounds in Dora ABCs Vol 1: Letter & Letter Sounds, and phonemic awareness in Dora ABCs Vol 2: Rhyming Words, your child is now prepared for the reading adventure! Dora ABCs Vol 3: Ready to Read! introduces the concept that letters can be arranged in a specific order to form words. Through manipulation of first, last, or middle letters in these words, children engage in a fun activity known as "word ladders." This skill is essential for developing proficient reading skills.
In this educational game, players assist Dora and Boots in crossing Water Lily Lake to reach the Fantastic Frog Fiesta on the opposite shore. By sounding out words or modifying letters to create new ones, children help guide Dora and Boots across the lake by hopping on lily pads. Clear instructions and engaging sound effects aid children in grasping word pronunciation and reading basics.
Throughout phonics exercises, three delightful mini-games with Dora's frog pals provide extra entertainment: guiding frogs to flowers on lily pads, matching colorful frogs and flowers, or stacking frogs atop a moving pad to reach a high flower - all interspersed among the phonics challenges.
